Allawee’s next chapter with Paystack
9/3/2026
Allawee began with a simple belief: Nigerians needed better financial infrastructure built around how they actually operate.
So we built card-issuing infrastructure, credit tools, and business banking products that helped companies move money, issue cards, and manage their finances. Over the years, these products processed tens of billions of naira in transactions and supported hundreds of businesses and thousands of individuals.
In 2025, Paystack acquired Allawee. Since then, the card-issuing technology we built has been integrated into Paystack, where it continues to support businesses at a larger scale.
Now, we’re retiring Allawee’s standalone business and personal account products. The card-issuing technology we built will continue as part of Paystack.
What this means for Allawee customers
From December 1, 2026, customers will no longer be able to send or receive money through their Allawee accounts, and all Allawee cards will stop working, regardless of the expiry date printed on them. Any payment sent to an Allawee account number on or after that date will fail.
Please complete the following steps by November 30, 2026:
- Withdraw your full balance to a bank account of your choice.
- Share new account details with anyone who pays you.
- Replace your Allawee card details wherever they are saved or used.
- Download your transaction history for your records.
Your money remains yours. It will not expire or be forfeited. If you do not withdraw your balance by November 30, it will remain safely recorded, and you will be able to request a manual payout by contacting [email protected].
If you would like to continue using a Paystack product, you can open a Paystack Microfinance Bank account for your business or a Zap account for personal use.
Paystack MFB and Zap are separate products from Allawee. Your balance, account details, transaction history, and verification information will not transfer automatically, so you will need to create a new account.
Every affected customer is being contacted directly with the dates and steps they need to follow. You can also read our frequently asked questions for more information.
Thank you for building with us
Allawee was built by a small, dedicated team, but it became what it did because hundreds of businesses and thousands of individuals trusted us with something important: their money.
We’re proud of what we built and grateful to everyone who used it, worked with us, and believed in what we were trying to make possible.
Allawee’s standalone products are coming to a close, but the technology and infrastructure behind them will continue within Paystack.
Thank you for being part of our story.
